How is Brazil Exporting?

export is a service offered to anyone interested in sending products out of the country

Today exportation in Brazil is a service offered to anyone who is interested in sending products out of the country.

Since 2008, a growing participation of micro and small companies has increased the number of exports in Brazilian lands.

And even though the Covid-19 pandemic has required protective changes in the industry since 2020, Brazil has continued to show growth.

If we turn to the data that represent the first four months of 2021, according to the figures of the National Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX), we have already achieved better growth compared to the first four months of 2020. From January to April, export growth was 26.6% and the total sum resulted in $82.13 billion.

And so far, April and May mark a record-breaking season for Brazilian foreign trade since the beginning of the historical series, in 1989.

In April, the increase in the country's exports was 50.5%, totaling $26.48 billion, and it happened in all categories.

In May, with the beginning of the Brazilian harvest and the increase in demand for internationally quoted primary products, exports were $26.9 billion, with a 46.5% growth in relation to May of last year.

SECEX believes that these records are happening motivated by the increase in the volumes of exported products and by the rise in international prices of products sold by Brazil.

The categories that presented the most expressive sales were the Extractive Industry, Agriculture and Livestock, with soybean sales as highlights, and the Transformation Industry.

As for the most recorded destinations, Asia appears in the lead, especially China, which had an increase of 55.1%, and Japan, which received 36% of Brazilian products). Then come Argentina, the United States and the European Union.
